Dan Wakelee, Ph.D.
Dan Wakelee is Associate Dean of the Faculty and Associate Professor of Public Administration at California State University Channel Islands. He received his Bachelors degree in Political Science from Occidental College, a Master’s of Public Administration from California State University Northridge, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 1999, after serving in an administrative capacity for the Ventura Campus of CSU Northridge, he came to the Channel Islands campus as part of the initial group of faculty and administrators.
His general areas of interest include public policy, state and local government, and higher education. His research and scholarship focuses on a variety of topics involving public policy and administrative practice.
He is currently working on projects that explore policy issues surrounding the development of Channel Islands National Park and the management of lands with preexisting uses by the National Park Service.
