Image Manipulation in Java

Java is a relatively recent computer language (see Sun's Java website for more info).  One of its features is that it is platform independent.  In other words, Java programs can be run on different computers.  So, a Java program written on a PC can be run on a Mac, a Unix machine as well as a PC.  Another advantage is that the programs  can be formed into small applications, called applets, which can be run within a WWW browser.

Some Java applets of relevance to image manipulation are accessible from this page.  The right brain stuff consists of processes for fairly objective applications.  The left brain stuff consists of processes which have a more artistic quality.
