My approach to teaching revolves around two principles.
I seek to establish a strong thematic or theoretical core for each course. A strong core serves as a touchstone for students, helping to guide their thinking about the material, and providing a means for me to relate a broad range of material to a few, more simple ideas.
I seek all opportunities to provide students with an opportunity to engage in hands-on learning. Hands on learning bridges the abstract and theoretical of course material to a real-world application of that knowledge. |
